A Trek to the Discotheque
A collection of truly funky playing variations for any classic and modern disco track!
The drums and the bass may be the backbone of any typical disco track, but stripped of the funky twang or rhythmic pulse of the keys, something obvious would be missing. This collection of EZkeys MIDI takes you on a disco journey starting in the wake of the 1970s funk movement and stopping right where we are today.
Expect anything from timeless old-school vibes inspired by the greats of the seventies to the ones pioneering the funk-infused dance music of today.
- Piano/keyboard MIDI inspired by disco and funk music

- Intro, verse, pre-chorus, chorus and bridge sections
Q. What did you try to capture in this collection of EZkeys MIDI?
A. I tried to capture a big variety of typical disco keyboard variations in different tempos and styles.
Q. What’s your personal connection to disco?
A. I was born during the height of the disco era and probably had some early disco “programming”.
Q. Even if the term disco may feel like it dates back to the ‘70s, fact is that a lot of modern pop music still leans heavily on what started back then. Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Madonna, Daft Punk and many others all have had disco-sounding tracks in the charts. What is it about disco that still works?
A. Likely, it’s the dance aspect. Dance music always works no matter if it’s traditional music, rock’n’roll or disco. Disco usually has a steady four-on-the-floor kick drum which is great for dancing without losing the beat.
