Kombinat Tri

From mild tone-shaping or adding a bit of grit to full-on total waveform destruction, Kombinat Tri is a complete toolbox of sonic warfare and a complete top-to-bottom rebuild of the popular Kombinat series.

With 13 different options in each of the three distortion engines (plus pass-through), Kombinat Tri is capable of sophisticated and unique sounds. Want to add a ring mod to the low end, a mild tube clip to the mids, and a bit-reduction algorithm to the high end? No problem. Want to run your signal through three sine-warps or fuzz algorithms in series? This is your box.

Kombinat's signal structure allows for a fairly broad palette of sounds, as each segment of the overall effect is a versatile tool in its own right. On the front end is a full "DJ-style" band-killer EQ; this leads to the three distortion engines, which may be used in multi-band mode for subtle surgery, or in series mode for complete signal destruction. The engines lead to a multi-mode filter with 12 different topologies, and then on to a compressor which Audio Damage have configured for one-control operation.

Taken as a whole, Kombinat is a tweaker's paradise, yet designed so that it is easy to just grab one of the presets and touch it up a bit to suit the source material.

Features

  • Crossover: Kombinat Tri features a DJ-style three-band isolator EQ for band-killing effects and extreme tone-carving on the front end. This leads to the three distortion engines, which can be run in crossover (multi) mode, or in series.
  • Multiple Distortion Types: Kombinat Tri has 13 different distortion and tone-shaping algorithms, and you can mix-and-match, with each of the three bands getting its own selector. From subtle tube-style clipping to the bizarre distorto-delay of the Nerd Rage algorithm, Kombinat Tri can cover all the bases without unnecessary complexity.
  • Feedback: If the algorithms weren't enough, Kombinat Tri has an internal feedback control, tied to an envelope follower. Results may vary, but are always hairy.
  • Filter: Kombinat Tri has 12 different filter topologies, from subtle 2-pole lowpass, through synth-style filters, to surgical notch. Several are self-resonant.
  • One-Kontrol Kompressor: A favourite feature of the original Kombinat and Kombinat Dva, the one-knob compressor, tuned for collapsing distorted signals to roadkill, remains in Kombinat Tri.
  • Mix Control: Kombinat Tri adds an oft-requested feature: a mix knob for better control over the signal path.
  • Presets: Kombinat Tri includes a selection of presets from Kombinat and Kombinat Dva, some all-new presets to take advantage of the new features, and a selection of Designer presets from Ken Flux Pierce and Don Gunn.

Discord4

Discord4 is the latest version of Audio Damage's most popular and long-lived product, their Discord stereo pitch shifter. Originally modelled from the H910, Discord has long since become its own effect and a studio standby, and this version includes major additions to further stretch its capabilities.

The pitch-shifter consists of three separate algorithms: a "vintage" mode (the original Discord algorithm, modelled on the Eventide H910 and H949), a "clean" mode for more modern shifting sounds, and a "granular" mode for experimental effects. Each mode has its strengths, depending on the input material, and Discord3 has a broad palette of capabilities as a result. The P1 and P2 algorithms have full control over the buffer (window) size of the shift effect, for fine-tuning the shift to the input signal, or for stranger sound effects. At the extremes of the six-octave shift range, some truly strange aliasing and artifacts can be had with this control.

Discord4 retains its pair of tempo-synced delays and bandpass filters from previous versions and adds a reverb in the feedback loop (for easy access to "shimmer" effects). Audio Damage have also replaced the modulation sources from the original with the all-new FLFO (Flexible LFO) design. Panorama controls are included to control the stereo width of the wet signal. Finally, soft saturation and limiting have been added or improved throughout the signal path, for an overall improved sound and added vintage-style warmth, and to allow for extreme feedback experiments without fear of overloading your DAW's channel.

Features

  • Pitch Shifting: Discord4 contains a pair of shifters with three separate algorithms (Vintage, Clean, and Granular) for different styles of pitch shifting.
  • Buffer Size Control: The P1 (Vintage) and P2 (Clean) algorithms have a Buffer Size control, from 32 to 2048 samples, for fine-tuning the pitch shifting effect.
  • Delay: Tempo-synced or free-running delays with feedback, cross-feedback, and a sophisticated bandpass filter.
  • Reverb: A simple stereo reverb is added to the feedback path, for "shimmer" effects and further sound exploration.
  • Modulation: Two of our new FLFO (Flexible Low-Frequency Oscillator) with tempo sync and an arbitrary waveform, capable of a nearly infinite number of modulation shapes using only three controls.
  • True Stereo Operation: Discord4 has a true stereo signal path, with entirely independent control over each side, finishing with panorama settings for stereo width.
  • MIDI Note Control: Six octaves of pitch-shifting can be controlled with MIDI note input.
  • All-New GUI: Vector-based resizable user interface.
  • Presets: Cross-platform XML-based preset manager.

Eos 2

Eos 2.0 was a massive update to the Eos algorithmic reverb. For version 2.1, Audio Damage rebuilt Eos from bare metal, increasing stability and compatibility across all platforms. The all-new user interface is fresher looking as well as more amenable to touch control. This, combined with its new preset management makes Eos 2.1 a breeze to use.

Features

  • Bespoke Reverb Algorithms: Eos includes four high-quality, studio-grade custom-designed reverb algorithms: Three different plate simulators and the Superhall algorithm for expansive dense and rich reverbs with gentle modulation.
  • Flexible Sound Shaping: Eos' reverb parameters (pre-delay, diffusion/density, size, attack and decay), offer precise control over the plugin’s spatial characteristics.
  • Modulation: Rate and depth controls apply time-varying changes to the delay lines within the reverberators, making the effect sound more realistic when used gently and otherworldly at extreme settings.
  • Filtering and Frequency Shaping: On top of a pair of simple EQ filters (low cut and high cut) at the reverberators' inputs, Eos allows the user to adjust the way in which high and low frequencies decay, altering the tonal quality of the reverb tail.
  • Infinite Decay: The reverberators' decay time can be set to infinity, freezing any input signal, somewhat like a looped sample. A setting suited to creating unusual effects, providing ample sound design possibilities.
  • Mix and Lock: Adjust the balance between the dry input and the effect signal. With the LOCK button engaged, the Mix parameter will not change when loading presets.
  • Mono In, Stereo Out: Eos can be used in a mono-in/stereo-out or stereo-in/stereo-out context. It creates a stereo reverb output even if the input signal is mono
  • Fully Resizable Hi-Dpi/Retina GUI: Eos 2’s vector-based GUI is resolution-agnostic, and displays the same on every system and resolution. Easily resize the UI (per instance) to match your visual needs, from postage stamp to poster-sized.

Replicant 2

One of the original buffer effects, and still one of the best. Version 2 adds the Stutter effect, for further divisions of the loop. It's like glitch-ception! From a simple delay or panning effect, on up to massive random beat mangling, Replicant is a capable plugin well in line with today's electronic music styles. Stuttering buffers and filter drops are easy to program, and the comprehensive randomization features give it a mind of its own if so desired. If you're looking to add some chance to your production, you've come to the right place!

Features

  • Tempo-based delay and looping effects, from 1/128th note to an entire measure.
  • Stutter adds further subdivisions, down to a 1/16384th note (otherwise known as a "tone".)
  • Seven independant randomization controls, for subtle changes or extreme aleatoric madness, including a global randomize button.
  • Unique "Hold" feature, to store a random sequence you like.
  • Resonant low-pass and high-pass filters that change over time.
  • Pan position that changes over time.
  • Two separate direction modes, for entire events or individual repeats, with randomization.
  • MIDI Note or front panel triggering of loop events for live playing of effects.

Filterstation2

Filterstation2 is the Audio Damage take on the classic serial/parallel/stereo dual filter topology, made famous (and some would say "indispensable") by the Sherman Filterbank and its many clones. With twelve filter algorithms, an envelope follower with stereo sidechain input, a full FSU section for extra signal hacking, and an easy-to-use interface, Filterstation2 is a valuable addition to any producer's toolkit.

Filterstation2 takes the original Filterstation plugin, and adds an all-new HiDpi/Retina-capable vector-based UI with resizability, a completely rewritten parameter and DSP section, a full selection of extreme modification tools, ProTools support, an cross-platform XML preset mechanism.

Features

  • Twelve different filter algorithms, including MS20 emulation and Audio Damage's classic 914 bandpass and Filterpod lowpass models.
  • VCA mode for tremolo and gate effects.
  • LFO with twelve different patterns, and both internal and tempo sync modes.
  • Envelope follower for dynamic control of filter frequency.
  • Serial, parallel, and true stereo operating modes.
  • Sidechain input for external signal to envelope follower.
  • Easy-to use interface for quick programming.
  • Vector-based resizable GUI.
  • Cross-platform XML-based preset manager.

Grind

A true powerhouse of audio warfare, Grind puts the "damage" in Audio Damage. From subtle tube-style saturation to full-on mangled wavetable distortion, Grind is a Swiss Army Knife of sound design.

Grind consists of three main blocks: wavetable lookup, into algorithmic saturation/distortion/, and finally to a multi-mode filter. The wavetable module uses the amplitude of the incoming signal to replace the sample with one from 15 different linearly-interpolated wavetables, chosen for their mangling potential. Window size and phase controls provide further tone-shaping possibilities.

The next stop is the algorithm module, with eleven different distortion and saturation algorithms, from simple soft-knee saturation on up to full-on sine warping.

After this, the signal passes through a multi-mode filter stage, with eleven different filter models to choose from, including "vintage digital" versions from the early days of plugin development, on up to the modern analogue-modelled MS20-style lowpass and highpass synth filters. A tempo-synced LFO provides motion for the filter frequency, and a final stage of soft clipping and DC filtering tames the output.

Make no mistake: this is not a subtle, polite tool. With careful tuning of the provided presets, it can be tamed to normal filtering and saturation duties, but on the whole, it is a noisy, snorting beast of a plug-in, and is happiest with Full Metal audio destruction.
