Model 5000
A "Heavy Weight" VCA Compressor
A “Punchy” hybrid compressor with controllable low end “Thrusting” inspired by the famous American compressor and the classic British console compressor. Great on drums, your mix bus, and for mastering. Go subtle or “Thrust” your sound! This is part of the new Enhanced Classics series.
The Model 5000 is a hybrid VCA modeled on the famous “Thrusting” American compressor and the famous British “Console” compressor. Get “Bottom Weight” on your mixes with ease.
Features
- Knock Circuit - This plugin brings the best of the 2 compressors to one single unit. This VCA compressor derives its compressor ratio, attack and release time from the British Model and brings a unique “KNOCK” circuit from the American compressor design.
- TransX - When engaged, the TransX adds transformer coloration to the circuit, this brings a pleasing analog solid-state style saturation to the sound. The more the input gain, the more the drive.

FireChild
The King of Vari-Mu Compressors
FireChild includes 4 models of the Vari-Mu Compressor ranging from Tube Versions (A/B/C) to a transparent version accurately sampled and emulated from the originals of the 1950s.
Use this for the Master, or individual tracks, you will be pleasantly surprised!
What is FireChild?
FireChild aims to emulate the characteristics of the King of Compressors from the 1950s. The vintage units are variable-mu type compressors, which use the vacuum tubes for reduction of gain right in the audio signal path, (no re-routing to a compression circuit)
Given its primary purpose as a protective device in broadcast or vinyl cutting environments, in which the limiter was required to catch any unwanted signal peaks reliably, these fast attack times were one of the compressors most important features.
FireChild Plugin features not 1, but 4 models including a “clean version” – off mode for the convolution, which presents a “non-coloured” compression characteristics version as well.

OptoRED
OptoRED is a transparent Optical Attenuator (compressor) based on the classic American unit used on countless hit records. This is part of the new Enhanced Classics series.
Compression is one of the most important tools in the arsenal of an Engineer, Music Producer & Artist alike. This is now a device that far surpasses its original intent which was to control the level of the sound automatically.
Features
Compression Capabilities
- This knob works counter-clockwise and is the threshold control for the compressor.
- The range is set from +10dB to -30dB.
- Turning right adds more compression.
Comp | Limit Switch
- This switch will toggle the device between a smaller compression ratio and a very large compression ratio
- Choose between a Compressor Mode or Limiter Mode.
Lo Cut
- This is a 12 dB Low-cut shelving filter which goes from an 'off' setting to 100 Hz
- This has been implemented to help the user automatically filter out the very low frequencies when tracking vocals, bass and other instruments.
Wet / Dry Mix
- On the leftmost position, this knob only allows the processed compressed signal to pass through.
- This gives the user more tone shaping and parallel processing options needed in today’s workflow.
Sidechain On / Off Switch
- This turns on or turns off the sidechain circuit.
Gain, Freq & Control
- The compressor gets fed a filtered version of the incoming signal to trigger the side chain.
In Gain Control
- The In Knob controls the level of the input signal entering the Optored Processor with a range of -48db (silence) to +24 dB.
- This will affect the threshold of the processor.
Auto Switch On / Off
- This switch toggles between switching on or off the AutoGain circuit.
- The more you turn the threshold knob to the right, the more the gain added to the compressed signal.
Make-Up Gain
- This control handles the level of the processed signal after the AutoGain system and can be used to reduce or increase the levels of the processed signal.
- The range of this control is from -48dB to +24dB.

V2 now features overlapping bands and new frequency ranges as well as oversampling for more “analog” behaviour.
Tone Empire are obsessed with “Sound”
Tone Empire recently brought a vintage unit to life by building the hardware version over 6 months, changing tubes, transformers and signal paths.
In this quest, Tone Empire built a ”Golden Unit” with “Super Powers.”
Tone Empire had the idea then to model this circuit with 2 paths involving sowter and lundahl transformers and some choices of vintage valves.
The result was simply “Stunning...”
Then combining this with a versatile EQ Design, Tone Empire developed a monster Tube EQ in the DSP world, a kind of hybrid with a sound going from "Clean and Silky" to full-on "Crunchy" sounding saturations.
TYPE A gives you a great “FULL” sound including a “Big” Low end and TYPE B gives you a crunchier mid/high enhanced sound.
These choices make it possible to use this EQ on a variety of sound materials from Drums to Vocals, Piano, String Instruments, Bass, Synths and as a mastering unit itself.
In Black Q Version 2, Tone Empire have also introduced ” OVERSAMPLING “. Now it has up to 8x oversampling option if your system can take that CPU LOAD, Select your oversampling choice to get the more ” ANALOG ” Sound.
