The Ultimate Full Spectrum Audio Sweetener
Designed by a team of award-winning engineers to offer their most useful and most essential harmonic enhancement techniques in one centralized plug-in.
The resulting colour palette is a fast lane to pro-sounding records.
This full-spectrum enhancer will add punch, thickness, depth, warmth, edge and grit to all your tracks.
A Complete Color Palette
Sugar is an audio colour palette based on classic tricks used by top engineers to achieve great tones. Professional mixing engineers spend years refining techniques and processes to create the magical sounds the public hears on finished records. Beyond straight EQ and compression, these top engineers use processes that can be complicated to set up and tweak and often require expensive gear to achieve.
Sugar is a shortcut to those punchy kick drums, thick basses, sharp snares, edgy guitars, airy and creamy vocals, warm mixes and wide masters, and much more.
Sugar saves time by centralizing these processes in one analogue-inspired plug-in without sacrificing the ability to fine-tune for a professional experience. Sugar's four effects are routed in parallel processing and work in mono, stereo and M/S (Mid-Side) mode.
Sugar's signal flow is straightforward: the chosen effects are blended with the dry signal and routed through a High-Pass/Low-Pass linear phase filter combination to reign in the extreme amount of energy Sugar can add to the raw signal (There can be such thing as too much Sugar). This blended signal is then run through the Saturation section of the plug-in, where three carefully chosen saturation algorithms can tame unruly transients, add more grit to your sound, or simply destroy it in devastatingly creative ways.
Sugar's interface is designed to streamline necessary but otherwise repetitive tasks and to allow engineers to dial in the perfect setting very fast and intuitively so they can focus on the music, not the tools.
4 Faders, 8 Colors
Professionals always add more punch, thickness, warmth, width, edge or air to their tracks. Sugar helps you achieve what you are looking for faster than ever. Select a colour. Push a fader.
3 Types of Saturation
Give your sound that polished analogue feel, add more grit or simply tame unruly transients with one of the three carefully selected saturation algorithms.
A Unique Jog Wheel Control
The 4 Sugar bands are processing your sound in parallel and work in mono, stereo or M/S mode. Once you have found the proper balance that suits your sound, use the jog wheel in order to intuitively add more or less Sugar.
Linear Phase Filters
High-pass and low-pass filters are used in order to reign-in bursts of energy. Sugar's filters and the 4 band crossovers are all linear phase in order to allow for mastering-grade processing and avoid phase issues.
A Linear Phase Delight
Sugar's four crossover bands and LP & HP filters are built on high-grade linear-phase technology to avoid any of the common phase issues associated with parallel processing. This makes Sugar safe for 2-mix or mastering duties by guaranteeing the integrity of the source signal.
Sugar Learning Center
To cut the user's learning curve of this new tool, PROCESS.AUDIO created an expansive Learning Center featuring many video tutorials on how to best use Sugar on distinct audio sources, as well as a thorough run-through of all the features.
Sugar owners can also enjoy a full 20-minute mixing video tutorial by prominent engineer Fab Dupont, demonstrating how he exclusively used Sugar to mix the soundtrack of the plug-in's release video. Users can freely download the source session of the mix and look at the settings in their own DAW. The session is available in Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, Studio One, and Ableton formats.

Modules
Stereo Cloud - Visualize your frequencies in the stereo field
The Stereo Cloud allows you to visualize where the frequencies of your audio material are located in the stereo field. Bass and high frequencies are respectively represented at the bottom and the top of the module. The X-axis represents the stereo field.
The purpose of the Stereo Cloud is for you to be able to visualize what you hear and feel in a precise and innovative way that is pleasing to the eye.
Super Meter - Loudness, dynamics, and True Peak in one module
The Super Meter is a unique way to visualize the three most important measurements of your sound. Loudness (LUFS), dynamics (TrueDyn), and peaks (True Peak). The outer rim displays short-term measurements (3-second time span) for a real-time feel of your music, whereas the inner rim displays integrated measurements (from the beginning of your recording).
LUFS Meter - Three gauges to monitor your levels
The classic LUFS meter will show you the LUFS momentary (400ms), LUFS short term (3s), and LUFS integrated values of your signal.
The LUFS momentary value gives you an instant representation of your material's loudness level, whereas the LUFS integrated value represents your average loudness from the beginning of the recording. The goal is for your LUFS integrated value to settle on your LUFS target value before delivering your material.
LUFS Histogram - Track your music's loudness over time
The LUFS Histogram represents your music's loudness (LUFS) and short-term dynamics (TrueDyn) over time. It is the best way to compare different parts of your songs and see how their loudness and dynamics evolve and compare to one another. You can also see if your material exceeded your True Peak Max limit with red alert dots.
VU Meter - Get a feel for your levels
VU Meters will help you manage your recording levels and avoid overloading, distortion and help you hit your digital converters at their sweet spots by calibrating the meter's 0VU level accordingly. The needle's momentum is set to approximate the human ear response and is well known to be the most 'musical' metering system.
Spectrum Analyzer - Watch your frequency content
Having access to a real-time frequency analyzer allows you to compare your music to reference material or pinpoint issues such as problematic resonating frequencies or frequency build-ups throughout your mix. Additionally, you can easily zoom in on the left part of the spectrum for better precision at the low frequencies.
Digital Meter - RMS: The old fashioned way
Before the LUFS norm got into the picture, levels were calculated using the RMS standard. This is the typical gauge we are all used to because this is what we use on every track of every DAW. It is still very practical and straightforward. Plus, this module allows you to show your True Peak value, customize peak hold time constants or zoom into your dB scale for better precision.
Phase Scope - Check your phase
Decibel's Phase Scope will show the correlation between your left and right channels. The module will help you identify mono signals and indicate when your stereo channels are out of phase. It will also visualize your stereo image and show if it leans to one side. As a general rule, the more scattered the dots, the more balanced your signal is. And it looks beautiful.
Target Validator - Meet your targets
Target Validators are the perfect way to know if you have met your targets. Decibel has three targets: your loudness (LUFS) target, which will light up in blue when your material settles at the desired LUFS level, your Loudness Range (LRA), and True Peak Max, which will light up in red if they are exceeded. An absolute must when you want to deliver your material according to draconian specs.
Number Box - Display all the data that you want
Number Boxes allow you to display just about everything computed by Decibel. From LUFS, RMS, and TrueDyn levels to crest factor, LRA, and True Peak.

Modern Tube Compressor
Vari-MU = Vari-Glue
The COMP.TWO plugin is a faithful emulation of the German-built hardware compressor by Rockruepel (Rock-bully in English). It is an all-tube vari-mu design, meaning there are no transistor stages in the circuit. Ideal for adding glue to your mix.
The Rockruepel History
Oliver Gregor, soldering iron in hand, has been building all sorts of machines since kindergarten. It is during his tenure as a tech at Skyline Studios in Düsseldorf that his love for music and electrical engineering merged into a relentless quest for creating the best audio equipment.
Oliver's focus on tube circuitry led him to explore how to elevate vari-mu compressor designs to meet the needs of the modern workflow and 21st-century sonics. He quickly realized that to be the most useful, a modern tube compressor had to be faster, have higher headroom, and have a more extensive feature set than what was available. The COMP.TWO is the logical evolution of COMP ONE and the culmination of 20 years of research, development, testing, and incorporation of user feedback.
Amp Only & Transformers
The appeal of a compressor is as much the inherent sound of the unit as its ability to compress material. Using the same type of output tubes as the old Altec and RS124 compressors and with beautifully sounding Sowter transformers in the output stage, the COMP.TWO is also a great vibe box, with or without compression.
When PROCESS AUDIO's owner, Fab Dupont, first tried the original COMP ONE hardware years ago, he immediately requested to be able to use the compressor just as a tone box. Rockruepel added the AMP ONLY feature, and it's there on the COMP.TWO.
One+Time=Two
A compressor is only as useful as its side chain is smart and flexible. Through years of refinement Oliver made sure that COMP.TWO has none of the limitations of traditional monolithic vari-mu circuits and can be as clean or as dirty as you need, as fast as an 1176 or as slow as a Fairchild, all with the texture and tone of a classic tube compressor.
Modern Controls
The team at PROCESS.AUDIO captured and recreated every nuance of the hardware and added its signature set of controls, like the Console Remote which lets you control all instances of the COMP.TWO plugin from a central interface, MS capabilities, high-pass filter on a sidechain, DRY/WET control, and of course, lots of presets designed by world-class producers and mixers.
Visualisation
Compression can be tricky to perceive, so PROCESS.AUDIO created a visually pleasing and easily readable gain reduction visualizer to aid in precise gain matching and provide a true understanding of the impact of the settings on the program material. That's in addition to faithfully recreating the two gorgeous VU meters of the hardware units.
