Softube + Marshall: A Partnership Fused by Sound Quality

Softube's first-ever prototype was a hardware DSP box running a Marshall amp model and a loudspeaker model. Suffice it to say, that got Marshall’s attention. The relationship sparked by those humble beginnings has led to a successful, long-term partnership. Amp Room: Marshall Edition is stacked from here to high heaven with the only amps and cabs available in software form that are endorsed by Marshall.

Marshall Additions: The Higher the Stack the Closer to God-Status

The expertly emulated amplifiers and cabinets included in Amp Room: Marshall Edition will bring your guitar and bass tones to new heights. From the amazingly responsive Marshall Museum piece, Plexi Super Lead 1959, to the dark and smooth collector’s item, Silver Jubilee 2555, the amps in this edition grant you near-total mastery over the legendary Marshall Sound. The father of JCM800, Marshall JMP 2203, is the quintessential rock amp. Bluesbreaker Model 1962, one of the rarest and most expensive amps in the world, adds warmth and crunch in three dimensions. With eight special speaker cabinets versatile enough for any musical genre from vintage to modern in the mix, dominion over the heaven-sent sound of Marshall is all but complete.

Marshall Plexi Super Lead 1959

There is perhaps no other amplifier more vital to the history of rock & roll than the Marshall Plexi Super Lead 1959. At any setting, it responds exactly like the hardware, and it’s sensitive to your playing style like you wouldn’t believe.

Marshall Bluesbreaker 1962

When Eric Clapton used the Marshall Model 1962 on the John Mayall & The Blues Breakers self-titled album in 1966, the performance in combination with this amp was such a distinctive contribution to music history that the amp came to be known as the “Bluesbreaker”. The Bluesbreaker’s amp section is warm and crunchy, and the use of Alnico speakers in an open-back cabinet adds an unusually chimey and three-dimensional sound for a Marshall, which has contributed to its status as a genuine workhorse far outside of the blues genre too.

The Marshall Bluesbreaker 1962 plug-in is a super accurate software version of the real thing, produced in partnership with Marshall from a Series 1 Bluesbreaker Model 1962 combo amplifier kept in pristine shape in the Marshall museum since 1965. The plug-in was component modelled down to the smallest details, resulting in flawless sound quality that will make you feel wonderful tonight and every night.

Features

  • A careful emulation of the legendary Marshall Bluesbreaker 1962 amp.
  • A true blues and rock & roll legend and one of the rarest and most expensive amps there is.
  • Cabinet speakers recorded by engineer/producer Tony Platt of AC/DC fame.
  • Both a native plug-in and a module for Amp Room, the pro audio guitar and bass platform.
  • Component modelled down to the smallest details.
  • Flawless, authentic sound quality.
  • Amazing microphone combinations and options with classic dynamic, FET, ribbon and tube condenser microphones.
  • 'Jump' the inputs to use both of them for tone shaping the sound, just like the real amp.
  • Endless creative possibilities in Amp Room.
  • A rare and valuable collectable with Marshall legacy, now available as software.
  • Use the channel strip to fine-tune your sound right there in the plug-in.
  • Officially licensed and endorsed by Marshall.

Marshall JMP 2203

The Marshall JMP 2203, introduced in 1975, became the amp against which all other rock amps were compared. Artists who used it included Jeff Beck, Andy Summers, Tom Morello, AC/DC, Mötley Crüe, Judas Priest, Slayer, the Pixies and more. It was created out of demand for an amp with a master volume, which made it possible to get a distorted sound without the ear-splitting sound pressure levels, which expanded the sonic options a lot. By keeping the preamp gain down and getting most of the distortion from the power amp, you get more of a 1960s Marshall sound. By turning the master volume down and the preamp volume up, you get an edgier and more present distortion. The father of the JCM 800, with the same character and the true sound of rock and hard rock.

Features

  • Super accurate component modelled software version of Marshall’s own museum specimen of the Marshall JMP 2203.
  • Developed by Softube in partnership with Marshall.
  • Comes as a Native plug-in and Amp Room modules in one package.
  • Speaker cabinet produced by the legendary Tony Platt who is known for having recorded some of the best Marshall tones ever committed to tape.
  • Choose between 5 different classic microphones in different positions with the possibility to use 2 at a time.
  • A real classic amplifier that basically defined the rock guitar sound of the 70’s and 80’s.
  • 50 presets by Tony Platt for both the native version and Amp Room.
