Gain

Gain plugins are possibly the simplest of all, they act as an extra volume control which can be useful if you want to automate the volume of a track whilst still being able to control the general volume of that track. They normally come with other features such as allowing the user to switch the incoming signal to mono, mid / side and left / right volume controls.
