Hyperion Strings Ensemble delivers brilliant sound, performance features and adaptive controls, a massive range of articulations, special FX, sound-design and total flexibility in one sleek, powerful package.

This 30-piece string ensemble has compact divisi sections in a 12-layer slot system to quickly build huge symphonic groupings, with 8 1st Violins, 7 2nd Violins, 6 Violas, 5 Cellos and 4 Double-basses. Each section has fingered and gliss true legato, vibrato, clean and tremolo sustains, a full range of long/short notes, expressions, specialty bowings, and aleatoric effects.

The Shorts include long & dotted 8th-note staccatos, 16th & 32nd-note short staccatos, 32nd & 64th-note spiccatos, loose & tight pizzicato plucks, Bartok pitz and Col Legno taps, all with round-robin, velocity/swell, and auto-switching for realism and precision.

Expressions give a score life, with dynamic release-triggering, tempo-sync and time-stretching. From the delicate to the bombastic, you’ll find dozens of crescendos, decrescendos, sforzandos, and swells to fit any mood. Combine them with our A-B Blend, Offset, Attack & Release to create expressive movements.

Chromatic and aleatoric effects include flautando, ponticello, harmonics, trills, runs, clusters, stabs and more. The 1st Violins also feature a range of Sordino articulations, including true legato and portamento.

The wide streamlined interface has simple menus, easy routing, fast presets, and an adaptive engine. Play effortlessly, with Performance mode, adaptive legato response, short speed-switching, vibrato-clean blending and auto-bowing.

Fly seamlessly between articulations with instant key-switch assignment, A-B grouping, velocity stacking, cross-fading and Niente attenuation. Sequence as you go with the Arpeggio editor and stay in key with Play-Assist. Shape your tone, player positioning and acoustic environment on the Effects and Space tabs.

The Stage mix places the mics on each player for intense presence and transparency, perfect for adding definition and personality to any arrangement. The Close position delivers a modern, bold cinematic tone heard in our Micro and Elements editions. For Ensemble however, we’ve dialed back the processing for a more natural quality to let it breathe freely. The Mid Hall blend is a wide omni array with a velvety character and soft highs that fall easily into place. The Far Hall mix has a lush, vintage quality with a deep, dark sound for classical scoring.
