Vast Timbral Variety

Create the bones of your sound by twisting and modulating three oscillators in any direction. Play with a vast range of timbres.

FM - The three FM oscillators at the heart of Cypher2 feature linear thru-zero behaviour that keeps sounds in tune while allowing for timbral creativity. Each oscillator can smoothly morph between waveforms and can run at its own rate and tuning if needed.

Fine-Tuning - As well as tuning with coarse and fine-tune parameters, phase position and phase reset can be controlled for surgical sound design. Each oscillator frequency can also be synced to the internal clock for rhythmic possibilities.

Cross Modulation Possibilities - Each oscillator has huge cross-modulation potential. FM, hard sync and ring modulation can be used to modulate one oscillator with another and create harmonically rich timbres. Route each oscillator to one of two separate filter channels to expand your sounds.

Deep Tone Sculpting

Sculpt tone and resonance with dual multi-mode filters, each with six modelled filter circuits. Experience advanced filtering and waveshaping.

Filters - Cypher2 has a dual-filter topology, with each filter offering a choice of five different analogue circuit models - each based on classic synths - plus a digital comb filter. Each circuit model in turn offers a range of filter shapes and responses, for the widest variety of sound sculpting possibilities.

Waveshapers - Each filter is paired with a polyphonic waveshaper and wavefolder, capable of subtle overdrive to extreme distortion. The waveshaper / wavefolders can be configured as pre or post filters.

Filter Routing - Route filters in series or parallel, with independent polyphonic control over panning and FX bus routing. You can route the attack portion of the signal, for example, to a different FX chain than the sustain — or use an MPE source such as Pressure to control polyphonic filter mixing.

Delays - From classic dub delay to synced complex rhythms, Cypher2 offers a wide range of delay fx tones from vintage to modern.

Reverb - Add gigantic space or a roomy feel to your sounds, or even twist them into the beyond with the range of reverb modules that are available.

Chorus, Phaser and Flanger - Explore time-based effects like Phaser and Flanger that add luscious depth and texture to your sounds.

Distortion, Compression and EQ - Distortion and compression modules help your sound sit in the mix, whether you're looking for delicate fine-tuning or all-out destruction.

TransMod - Keeping track of complex modulation routing has never been easier. FXpansion's TransMod system, updated for Cypher2, lets you apply modulation directly to parameters in a highly intuitive way.

Modulation Sources - Harness a variety of polyphonic and mono modulation sources, including voice and unison, for advanced detuning possibilities.

Step Sequencer and Arpeggiator - An MPE-optimised step sequencer and arpeggiator let you modulate sounds and patterns at the same time, allowing for endlessly evolving melodies.
