Combining raw, close-miked drums with tape-worn, processed hits, Bloom Drum Kits brings your rhythm section to life with performances full of grit and imperfection.

Inside, you’ll find an extensive collection of professionally played rhythms and one-shots built from iconic kits, grooving top loops, detuned toms, characterful snares, and much more to get your tracks moving.

The result is a flexible palette for building rhythms that feel loose, tactile, and full of movement, ideal for indie, leftfield electronic, and more experimental production. Inspired by the raw drum sound of Geese, Four Tet, and Bonobo, as well as Nicolas Jaar’s acoustic, percussion-led approach to rhythm, Bloom Drum Kits brings a rough sense of motion and individuality to every track.

Excite Audio’s team of professional sound designers and producers created over 250 presets, organised into 7 categories:

• Basic (BA) - Straightforward drum beats built from each factory kit.
• Experimental (EXP) - Abstract, offbeat presets with a more sound design-focused feel.
• Kits (KIT) - Single hits and phrases created entirely from one-shots.
• High Energy (HI) - Fast, busy, and more aggressive beats for added momentum.
• Low Energy (LO) - Laid-back, minimal grooves for softer and more downtempo tracks.
• Percussion (PC) - Rhythmic sequences built entirely from percussion loops and samples.
• Processed (PRO) - Heavily treated beats featuring distortion, effects, and macro-driven movement.
• Top Loops (TOP) - Snare and hi-hat loops for layering and groove.

How it Works

Stay in the creative flow on the Main Page - trigger individual sounds with white notes and launch phrases or tweak properties with black notes. Four powerful macros let you shape your sound, while a range of 250 presets gets you moving fast.

There are eight banks of sounds to choose from, organised into easy-to-find categories. Swap sounds by loading a new bank or dragging individual samples onto the 14 white notes for instant variation.

For those who want to go deeper, programming entire sequences, chopping up hits and loops and using custom samples, it’s all unearthed in the Edit page. Bloom Drum Kits' Edit Page houses parameters like playback type and direction, attack and release, pitch and panning and everything else you’d expect in a modern sampler.

Import Your Own Samples

Adding your own samples to use as sources in Bloom Drum Kits is perfect for those who want to put their personal stamp on the Bloom engine. Drag and drop an audio file onto the sample display in the Main Page to replace the existing sample.

Sample Import

Unlike traditional sequencers, the Bloom Sequencer is designed for triggering and layering one-shots and looping sequences, allowing for endless rhythmic creation. In the modulation section, automate pitch, volume, and filter settings as well as three effects to add depth and dimension to your music.

In addition to high-pass and low-pass filtering, three effects await you in the Edit page. Bloom Drum Kits offers three powerful effects modules: Delay for adding rhythm and depth to your patterns. Dynamics to control the transients of your sequences as well as compression and gating to shape the dynamics of your drums. Reverb to create space and depth using Hall, Plate and Spring algorithms from the Lifeline Series.
