We’re all slowed down by tedious drum layering workflows.

Audio clips restrain swapping or editing multiple samples, MIDI clips on separate tracks lack visual representation of waveform relationships, while a multi-sample drum rack requires separate MIDI notes to trigger each sample. These are just a few drawbacks, and additionally, copying and pasting stacks of clips is unhandy across all approaches.

LAYER IT is the answer to these problems!

LAYER IT consolidates otherwise scattered drum layering workflow by combining visual feedback of audio with flexible control of MIDI while avoiding limitations of each method. It displays samples as stacked waveforms with individual timing offsets, all triggered by a single MIDI note or key press.

Each layer, apart from standard volume and pan controls, features a dedicated equaliser and multi-stage envelope generators for dynamic gain, pitch, filter, and distortion shaping.
In essence, LAYER IT is a streamlined, self-contained multitrack workspace with MIDI-triggered playback. And the created stack can be exported as a single audio file to a folder or dragged directly onto the DAW’s timeline.
