Malfunction is a circuit-bent filter effect plugin for Mac, Windows and Linux. It’s based on a unique experimental algorithm: a filter model whose internal connections have been intentionally tampered with. This virtual circuit produces a very specific, rough and screaming distortion that can instantly turn even the most primitive sounds into complex, expressive, glitchy and unpredictable textures that are full of character. To shape the sound further, Malfunction includes a super-smooth state variable filter with 5 modes and up to -48 dB/octave slope. Furthermore, both filters can be animated by two highly flexible, stereo LFOs – each featuring a huge collection of waveforms.
Features
- One-of-a-kind circuit-bent filter algorithm with two distinct character modes and aliasing suppression via 4× oversampling
- Input noise gate with adjustable threshold
