Noren Gate is a gate and expander designed not only to remove unwanted noise, but also to give you precise, intuitive control over the beginning and decay of each sound.
With three operating modes—Gate, Expander, and Auto—you can tailor its opening and closing behaviour to suit vocals, drums, guitar amps, podcasts, and a wide range of other material.
Product Overview
Use Gate mode when you need the signal to close firmly, or Expander mode when you want to reduce background noise more naturally.
Auto mode analyses the incoming signal and automatically adjusts the key parameters. Simply use the Strength control to determine how much processing is applied and get results quickly.
Threshold, Attack, Hold, Release, and Range let you control the level at which the gate opens, how quickly it responds, how long it stays open, how it closes, and how much attenuation is applied. When complete silence is unnecessary, using a shallower Range setting can produce a more natural result.
The SC Filter reduces low-frequency content entering the detection circuit, helping to prevent false triggering caused by kick drums, vibrations, or other low-frequency energy.
SC Listen lets you hear exactly what the detection circuit is responding to, while Delta lets you monitor only the signal being removed by the gate. This makes it easy to identify settings that may be too aggressive and fine-tune them by ear.
