Distortion should be warm, aggressive and alive. Drivedown is an analog-style distortion powered by a unique Pi-based algorithm, delivering warm saturation, overdrive, and aggressive fuzz across three distinct modes.
Drivedown is a creative distortion unit built around a unique Pi-based algorithm
Designed to deliver rich, harmonically pleasing saturation, its three modes cover a wide and musical range of drive—from gentle analog warmth to aggressive, fuzzy textures. It responds naturally to your signal, making it easy to dial in the right color and intensity, and unlike traditional distortion units, it never collapses your sound as you push the drive—your low end stays solid and your high end stays open, always.
From vocals, drums, and electric guitars to bass, strings, and synths, Drivedown adapts effortlessly to any source, transforming ordinary tracks into textures full of depth, edge, and personality in seconds.
Features
01 Arctan Distortion
- Natural saturation, unfiltered
- At the core of Drivedown is a waveshaper built on the arctangent function — a smooth, continuous curve that saturates gradually instead of clipping hard. No filtering stage tames the output, so the full harmonic content stays exposed, giving Drivedown a raw, alive character other saturation plugins soften away.
- Arctan transfer curve for smooth, natural-feeling saturation
- No filtering before or after distortion — fully unfiltered harmonics
- Zero added latency, tracking and live-ready
02 Mode & Gain
- Three characters, endless intensity
- Mode sets the overall character of the distortion — from Warmth's gentle analog-style coloration, through Raw's grittier presence, to Insane's dense, aggressive saturation. Gain drives the signal harder into the arctan curve on top of that, increasing harmonic density at any Mode setting.
- Three Modes: Warmth, Raw, and Insane
- Gain control drives the arctan curve independently of Mode
- Scales from subtle coloration to extreme saturation
03 Depth
- Clean lows and highs, punchy by default
- Depth engages a filter that controls the low end and high end around the distortion, keeping your lows and highs clean and punchy instead of getting buried in harmonic buildup. Depth comes enabled by default — the moment you insert Drivedown, it's already shaping your tone.
- Built-in filter shapes low end and high end around the distortion
- Keeps lows tight and highs clear through heavy saturation
- Enabled by default on insert
04 Output & Global Controls
- Blend it, level it, bypass it
- A Mix control balances the distorted signal against the dry input, useful for parallel distortion at low settings or fully committed saturation at 100%. Output trim handles gain staging so added loudness never gets mistaken for genuine tonal improvement, and a true bypass keeps A/B comparisons honest.
- Mix, 0–100% dry/wet
- Output trim for clean gain staging
- True bypass on/off
