Sound Design Engine. Modulate everything in your session.

Stride hosts the synths and effects you already own and moves every knob you map at once, with a fresh evolving take on every click. Works in any VST3 DAW and in Logic Pro as AU, with StrideBridge for Ableton Live included.

Stride is a sound design engine for the instruments and effects you already own. Load them inside Stride, touch the knobs you want moving, and each one drops onto the canvas as its own lane. One click writes a different evolving curve on every lane, up to 32 bars deep and locked to your tempo. Click again for a completely new take, as many times as it takes.

One variation is easy. Twenty is the work. Stride writes a fresh one across every mapped lane on every click, so you can lock what hits, reroll the rest, then reshape any curve by hand, point by point. The final say is always yours.

It isn't only for synths. Route a guitar, a vocal, a drum machine or any recording into Stride, build the effects chain you've always wanted around it, and every knob you mapped keeps moving while you play.

In Ableton Live, StrideBridge (included) brings your set's own devices onto the same canvas, from Operator and Wavetable to Roar and Auto Filter. One click moves your hosted chain and your Ableton devices together, and INJECT writes the motion into a clip as real automation you can edit.

And you can play it. Keyswitch Mode puts the Motion tools on one octave of your keyboard, and note-triggered motion runs the canvas from the notes you play.

You already have everything you need: your favorite synths, your trusted effects, your own sound. Stride doesn't replace any of it. It reveals more of what's already there.

Features

  • Your own gear in motion: Stride hosts your VST3 instruments and effects in one chain (plus AU on macOS) and moves them together, in any VST3 DAW and in Logic Pro and GarageBand.
  • Map by touch: arm Map and click any knob on any hosted device. Every control you touch becomes its own lane.
  • A fresh take on every click: the Motion tools write a different evolving curve on every unlocked lane at once, in loops of 2 to 32 bars, locked to your DAW's tempo and transport.
  • Six Motion tools fill every unlocked lane in one click: Chaos, Neuro, Reflector, Sample & Hold, Prism and Bloom. Mutate and Shuffle rework the curves you already have.
  • More moves for the lanes you pick: Storm, Call, Acid and Anchor, plus Sine, Square, Triangle, Saw, Pump and Glitch shapes.
  • Motions library: a factory bank of moves plus your own saved ones. Hover to preview a move on a lane, click to load it.
  • Lock what hits, reroll the rest: locked lanes keep their curves while the next click fills everything else.
  • Draw and shape by hand: point and freehand drawing, grid snap with a triplet lock, Mirror, Flip and Swing, 2x and 1/2x time stretch, copy and paste across lanes, and Smooth, Depth, Curve, Floor and Ceiling on one lane or all of them at once.
  • Keyswitch Mode: one octave of your MIDI keyboard fires eight tools. The notes stay silent and the tools fire, played live or recorded into a clip.
  • Note-triggered motion: run the canvas from the notes you play instead of the transport, restarting each time you play from silence or running free through the rests.
  • Audio In: route guitar, vocals, hardware or any recording through a hosted effects chain, with every mapped knob in motion.
  • Two plugins, one license: Stride for instrument tracks, Stride FX for audio tracks, buses and the master.
  • StrideBridge for Ableton Live: map Live's own devices onto the same canvas, MIDI effects included, and INJECT the motion into a clip as editable automation. Save Stride and its Ableton devices as a rack and the lanes find their knobs wherever it lands.
  • Chains you can keep: save a whole chain with its devices, patches and curves as a StrideChain file and load it into any project. Everything also saves with your DAW project.

The motion tools

One click, every unlocked lane:

  • Chaos: layered, organic wave motion, for dense evolving textures and ambient pads.
  • Neuro: dotted ramps, hard chops, stutters and syncopated drops on the grid, built for neuro and DnB bass, wobbles and aggressive design.
  • Reflector: pairs your lanes into a base and a mirrored twin, so the filter opens as the resonance drops, or the drive climbs as the volume falls.
  • Sample & Hold: stepped random motion, polyrhythmic with its own rate on every lane, or locked to a grid from 1/8 to 1/32, straight or triplet.
  • Prism: draw on one lane and every other lane answers live, through the same anchor points along a different path.
  • Bloom: spreads the curve on your active lane across every other lane as complementary variations, with a Morph amount for how far they stray.

Rework a take you like:

  • Mutate: reshapes the curve on the active lane into a fresh variation of itself.
  • Shuffle: trades the curves between lanes so the motion swaps places.

For the lanes you pick:

  • Storm: contrasting segments chained into a build and a release.
  • Call: an aggressive bar answered by a smooth one.
  • Acid: 303-style 16th-note slides.
  • Anchor: phrased bars that always come home, with glitch bites.
  • Shapes: Sine, Square, Triangle, Saw, Pump (a sidechain-style duck and swell) and Glitch.
