7 Processors. One Window. One Job.
Stop stacking five plugins to make one 808 land. 8008 runs 7 purpose-built processors at the same time - every one of them tuned for the 30-150Hz region where a sub bass actually lives.
Built for Mac & Windows, 8008 is not a general channel strip that happens to work on bass. The transient shaper only sharpens the band you point it at. The compressor cannot be set to a timing that chews a sub. The mono maker cannot leave a crossover seam. Several of these stages would be actively wrong on anything except low end - that is the point.
Imagine sharpening the click without touching the fundamental, lifting the note itself by 18dB, pushing it through one of eight saturation characters, gluing it with a compressor that physically cannot get the attack wrong, summing the lows to mono with no phase artefacts, dusting the whole thing with tape hiss that breathes with your playing, then catching it on a brickwall limiter - all in one pass, in one window, at zero latency.
Features
7 Processors, All Running At Once:
- Transient Designer, 808 Booster, Waveshaper, Compressor
- Mono Bass, Legendary lo-fi stage, Brickwall Limiter
- Every effect has its own Mix knob and its own bypass
- A fixed, musically ordered chain - no routing decisions to make
- One plugin in, a finished low end out
A Transient Shaper That Knows Where The Sub Is:
- Attack and sustain shaping inside a frequency band you choose
- Set the band above your fundamental and add up to 18dB of click without smearing the sub underneath
- Monitor button solos the band being shaped, so you can set it by ear in seconds
- Cut the sustain instead and a long 808 becomes a tight kick in one move
- The band split is done by subtraction, so the two halves always recombine perfectly
Find The Note, Then Lift It:
- Musical bell filter locked to 30-150Hz, exactly where sub fundamentals sit
- Up to +18dB when the fundamental needs to dominate the mix
- Variable Q from surgical to a broad, gentle lift
- Sweep the frequency with a narrow Q until the note jumps out, then widen it to taste
- The difference between an 808 you hear and an 808 you feel
Eight Saturation Characters:
- Soft Clip and Atan for clean warmth, Harmonic for targeted third-harmonic weight
- Tube and Diode for asymmetric analogue grit and even harmonics
- Hard Clip, Fold and Growl when it should sound broken on purpose
- Ordered gentle to extreme, so one knob walks a continuous arc instead of jumping between unrelated sounds
- Drive is fully gain-compensated - more drive means more harmonics, not more volume
A Compressor That Cannot Be Set Wrong:
- One Punch knob moves threshold, ratio, attack and release together
- At 40-60Hz a single waveform cycle lasts 16-25ms, so an attack faster than that chews the waveform instead of tracking the envelope
- The timing curve never crosses that line, no matter where the knob sits
- Makeup gain is computed from the actual compression maths, not estimated
- Deliberately set just under full compensation, so louder never fools you into hearing it as better
- Pull the Mix back for true parallel compression that keeps the transient intact
Mono Bass With No Crossover Seam:
- Standard mono makers split with a lowpass and a highpass that phase-shift differently, leaving a dip and a smear where they meet
- 8008 uses one filter - the high band is defined as whatever the lowpass did not take
- The two halves always sum back to exactly the original signal, so the split is mathematically phase-perfect
- Variable crossover from 20-500Hz and a continuous amount control
- At zero amount the stage is bit-transparent. Club-ready and vinyl-ready with no artefacts
Hiss That Breathes With Your Track:
- Tape hiss amplitude-modulated by your signal's own envelope
- It swells on hits and recedes into silence, the way real tape behaves
- Not a constant noise floor sitting loudest when nothing is playing
- Bit-depth crushing from 16 bits down to 3 for authentic early-sampler grit
- A steep 24dB/oct highcut that doubles as an aliasing tamer for the harder saturation modes
Bypass That Actually Saves CPU:
- Every effect lives in its own processing node
- Switching an effect off genuinely stops it computing - it is not mixed to zero and left running
- Bypassed blocks dim and grey out their own knobs, so the state is never ambiguous
- Run all seven, or run two, and your CPU meter will know the difference
- Run 8008 across a whole session without the project grinding
88 Presets, 6 Families:
- 88 factory presets, hand-tuned - no filler and no near-duplicates
- Six families: Clean, Punch, Phat, Grit, Lofi and Extreme
- From Studio Standard and Velvet Floor to Sub Whale, Growl Monster and Speaker Killer
- Every preset stores its bypass states too, so stages that are not contributing are switched fully off
- You can see at a glance which processors a sound actually depends on
An Interface You Can Actually Read:
- Seven colour-coded blocks, one per processor, all visible at once with no tabs to hunt through
- Hover any control for a plain-English description at the bottom of the window
- Drag a knob to change it, double-click to reset it
- Output meter next to the master section
- Resizable from 50% to 200%, Ctrl-click the corner handle to snap back
- Zero latency - no lookahead anywhere in the chain, including the limiter, so you can track through it live
