Underwater 2 FX Plugin – Drake Effect

Underwater 2 is the full rebuild of the 2020 original. It keeps the exact sound that made the first version a staple – that smooth, mellow, drowned "40 / Drake" Toronto tone – and rebuilds everything around it. The entire interface is now vector: it loads instantly, weighs almost nothing, and scales to any size on any screen without going soft. Instead of stacking multiple plugins, this all-in-one tool gets you there with a few tweaks, and shows you exactly what it is doing while you work.

How to Use:

1. Turn up the Filter knob until the water rises over his head.
2. Pick a Slope for how hard the filter cuts.
3. Adjust the Redux and Drive knobs until the sound feels right.
4. Done – instant underwater effect.

On-Board Effects & Controls:

• Low-Cut Switch: Cuts everything under 80 Hz
• Filter Knob: Modeled filter with smooth resonance
• Slopes Menu: 12 / 24 / 36 / 48 / 60 / 72 / 84 / 96 dB per octave, across eight filter stages
• Redux Knob: Lo-Fi degrade unit, bit and sample rate reduction
• Drive Knob: Special algorithm distortion, 0 to 36 dB
• Master Output Knob
• Bypass: hover over the face and click – every blue on the panel turns grey
• Automation support
• Resizable interface: drag the bottom-right corner, Ctrl+click to return to 100%
• Tooltip strip: explains whatever your mouse is over

Reactive Animation:

• Nothing on the panel is decoration. Every part of the picture is driven by a control or by your signal.
• The river follows the Filter knob, rising up the panel as the cutoff climbs
• His eyes close while audio is playing and blink when nothing is coming in
• Tears follow the input level, left channel from the left eye and right from the right, bursting on every transient
• The dot explosion follows Drive
• The teardrops break into pixels as Redux rises
