Glacier

Freeze, Shimmer & Delay

Glacier is a delay and reverb space designer. A tempo-syncable stereo / ping-pong delay and a dense Hall or Shimmer reverb run in series, in either order, and four global controls (Chill, Dispersion, Duck and Freeze) shape both effects at once.
Glacier turns a single chord, vocal phrase or drum hit into pads, tails and washes that keep moving. Freeze holds the current delay and reverb sound indefinitely while the dry signal keeps passing through. Chill brightens the wet signal for glassier, more crystalline repeats and tails. Dispersion smears, chorus-widens and spreads the repeats and the reverb. Duck pulls the wet signal down while you play, so it blooms back in the gaps.

The delay runs from 0 to 2000 ms or locks to host tempo, with a +/-12 semitone pitch shifter on its output that stays on time. The reverb offers Hall and Shimmer types, with decay from 20 ms to 10 seconds. Put the delay before or after the reverb to change the character of the space. Glacier adds zero latency to the dry signal.

Features

• Freeze: holds the delay and reverb loops indefinitely, with a short fade in and out. Chill, Dispersion, Duck, FX Gain and Mix still shape the frozen sound.
• Shimmer reverb: dense reverb with Hall and Shimmer types. Shimmer regenerates an octave up, and the amount rises with Depth.
• Reverb controls: Size, Depth (decay 20 ms to 10 s) and Predelay (0 to 500 ms or tempo-synced).
• Stereo / ping-pong delay: 0 to 2000 ms, or tempo-synced note values from 1/1 to 1/32 including dotted and triplet. Feedback 0 to 100%.
• Delay pitch shifter: +/-12 semitones on the delay output. Every repeat has the same shift, and repeats stay on time.
• Chill: brighter, more crystalline wet signal without changing decay time.
• Dispersion: smears and widens the delay repeats, and sweeps reverb width from narrow to extra wide.
• Duck: lowers the wet signal while input is playing and lets it bloom back in the gaps. Tails keep running underneath.
• Routing: delay before reverb, or reverb before delay.
• Global Mix: equal-power dry/wet blend. Audio In gain control.
• Zero latency: no latency added to the dry signal and none reported to the host.
• Presets: built-in preset browser with INIT, Save and User folder.
