HarmonEQ

HarmonEQ is a harmonic exciter EQ plugin that adds musical harmonics and saturation to your audio. Unlike traditional equalizers that simply boost or cut frequencies, HarmonEQ creates perceived loudness and presence without significant peak level increase. It features dual-channel Stereo/Mid-Side processing, three parallel harmonic EQ bands (LO, MID, HI), six per-band saturation types, per-band dynamics processing (expand, compress, transient shaping), progressive slope cut filters, oversampling up to 4x, and a unique De-Emphasis mode that isolates only the harmonic content for subtle enhancement. All controls are presented on a single interface for a fast, intuitive workflow.

• Six Saturation Characters Per Band: Each of the three EQ bands offers six selectable saturation types — MAIN (smooth musical harmonics), TUBE (valve-style even harmonics),WARM (darker tube variant), SOLID (transistor-style odd harmonics), TAPE (magnetic tape-style compression), and CLEAN (pure EQ boost without saturation) — allowing precise tonal shaping per frequency range.
• Dual-Channel Stereo/Mid-Side Processing: Operate in Stereo mode for linked L/R processing, or switch to Mid-Side mode for independent control over mono center content and stereo width, enabling detailed spatial shaping during mixing and mastering.
• Per-Band Dynamics (Expand, Compress, Transient): Three dynamics controls applied post-EQ allow subtle envelope shaping per frequency band. Expand increases dynamic range, Compress gently tightens peaks, and Transient reshapes attack character — all scaled for musical results that complement the harmonic EQ processing.
• Oversampling Up To 4x: Selectable quality modes (Normal 1x, Medium 2x, Best 4x) using Kaiser-windowed FIR filters provide clean anti-aliasing for pristine harmonic generation, with automatic latency compensation in Medium and Best modes.
• De-Emphasis Mode: A unique feature that subtracts the clean EQ boost component, leaving only the harmonic saturation content. Creates a subtle harmonic enhancer effect without changing the overall tonal balance — ideal for mastering and transparent processing.
• Advanced Signal Path: Three parallel harmonic bands extract frequency content independently and sum back with the dry signal, ensuring bands interact musically rather than cascading. Progressive slope cut filters, soft-clipping with Clip 0dB protection, a Scoop control to reduce muddiness, and phase-aligned Mix control complete a professional signal chain designed for both creative and corrective use.
