Electric Sitar

Psychedelic Experience
The Electric Sitar is a very special instrument with a distinctive and exotic sound. It hints at the instrument's Indian origins. But it has a more contemporary edge in its electric form. From psychedelic Rock to cinematic soundtracks, the sound of the Electric Sitar creates a musical atmosphere all of its own.
Adds Instant Character To Any Project
The library contains 2.6 GB of sample data and over 1600 individual loops and phrases. The content is organized into four main folders:
- Electric Sitar (890 Loops)
- Percussion Kits (349 Loops)
- Electric Bass (142 Loops)
- Live Session Kits (288 Loops)
The star of the show is the huge collection of Electric Sitar phrases. The 445 phrases were played on a Danelectro Sitar and are organized into 10 tempo and key based folders. Original tempos range from 78 to 128 BMP but can easily be adjusted within Elastik. Each phrase is supplied in both Amp and DI versions for flexibility and ready for any additional effects such as reverb or delay that you wish to add while mixing. The loops include extended melodic phrases (up to 12 seconds long) with naturally decaying end notes, loopable licks/riffs, individual chords and performance FX.
Packed With Complementary Loops
While the Electric Sitar loops could be dropped into any musical context, the library also includes three folders of complementary loops:
Percussion Kits - an extensive collection of 17 sub-folders full of percussion loops. These have been recorded live with four musicians using a range of percussion instruments in a rehearsal session performance. The recordings have not been quantized, providing a natural, organic, rhythmic bed. Instruments include tablas, congas, bongos, frame drums, cymbals and tambourines. A further folder is included with some electronic drum loops for additional variety.
Electric Bass - a collection of over 70 Electric Bass loops. These share the same sub-folder structure as the Electric Sitar including the same key/tempo combinations. Both Amp and DI versions of each loop are provided. Electric Bass - a collection of over 70 Electric Bass loops. These share the same sub-folder structure as the Electric Sitar including the same key/tempo combinations. Both Amp and DI versions of each loop are provided.
Live Session Kits - a similar collection of live recorded rehearsal sessions but this time including tonal instruments like acoustic guitar, flute and sitar. The folder structure follows that of the Electric Sitar loops making it easy to blend their contents into a musical project. The extensive material works just as well without the electric sitar, providing the basis for meditative New Age projects.
Perfect For Psychedelic Rock Or Film Scoring
From a homage to the psychedelia of the 60s, to adding a hint of mystery to a film score or crossing over into modern electronic music styles such as House, Hip Hop or Techno, the sound of the Electric Sitar will catch both the ears and the imagination of your audience. The loop pack is a perfect complement to our 60s Psychedelic Rock and 60s Acid Rock 1 & 2 libraries. However, the distinctive character of the Electric Sitar means these loops can be used to add a ‘world music’ flavour to any musical project.
