The DW Pure Maple Expansion Pack for DW Soundworks features hi-fidelity samples of DW's patented all-Maple 333 (9-ply) shell recipe, which features inner and outer vertical plies. Through groundbreaking R&D, DW identified that vertical grains significantly reduce tension on shells to vibrate more freely, reducing pitch. The source DW drums were handcrafted from 100% North American Hard Rock Maple without reinforcement hoops for lower fundamental tone with warm resonance and full attack.
