The Progressive & Heavy Collection brings two world-class drum kits and two MIDIpaks together in a single package. Recorded by renowned metal producer David Castillo, the Progressive Metal and Modern Heavy ADpaks cover the full spectrum of heavy music, from thunderous modern metal to intricate progressive arrangements. Both kits feature dual kick drums, giving you the natural, alternating feel that makes double kick patterns come alive.

Two companion MIDIpaks complete the package, adding a wide range of grooves from Waltteri Väyrynen's intricate progressive structures, to Dylan Watson's hard-hitting beats. Whether you need brute force or nuanced musical detail, these grooves help you build heavy drum parts that feel authentic.

Progressive Metal ADpak

Progressive Metal brings one of metal’s most expressive drummers, Waltteri Väyrynen (Opeth), into your productions. Recorded on Waltteri’s very own Pearl Reference Pure kit, this ADpak delivers articulate double kicks, dynamic toms for melodic movement, and lush dark cymbals.

Used by Waltteri on Opeth’s album “Last Will and Testament”, this kit delivers a studio-proven sound. Pearl Reference Pure shells deliver focused low end with clarity for ghost notes and fast passages, while dual 22” kicks provide tight, articulate power. Four toms and a hand-selected gong drum open melodic phrasing across the kit, and the wide selection of Sabian cymbals adds depth, from dark shimmer to aggressive attack.

Every kit piece was played by Waltteri himself, capturing the dynamics and musical expression that define his style.

Waltteri Väyrynen, drummer for Opeth, brings power, precision, plus years of international touring and studio experience to Addictive Drums 2. Combining technical control with an unmistakably heavy, musical feel, his playing moves effortlessly from detailed progressive passages to full-force metal aggression. This MIDIpak features the powerful playing of drummer Dylan Watson, known for his work with Kassogtha and Cân Bardd, and occasional live session drummer for Unearth. It includes over 300 MIDI files at various tempos, organized into compact beat variations and full song structures.

The drumming is heavily inspired by iconic heavyweights like Gojira, Pantera, Opeth, and Rammstein, delivering an authentic and dynamic modern heavy experience.
