Draw Any EQ Curve You Like—in Chalk!
Blackboard EQ is an equalizer designed to feel as intuitive as drawing your EQ curve directly onto the screen.
Alongside static EQ, it brings per-band Dynamic EQ, Saturation, L/R and Mid/Side processing, and selectable phase modes together in a single interface. It is ideal for mixing situations where you want to see exactly how much processing is being applied and make precise adjustments only where they are needed.
Product Overview
Add up to 24 bands, with independent control over frequency, gain, Q, filter type, slope, and processing channel for each band.
Eight filter types are available: Low Cut, Low Shelf, Bell, Notch, Band Pass, High Shelf, High Cut, and Tilt. Cut filters offer slopes from 12 to 96 dB/oct, with an additional Brickwall option available in Linear Phase mode.
Each band can be assigned independently to Stereo, Left, Right, Mid, or Side, allowing you to process only the exact component you want to target.
Enable Dyn to turn an individual band into a Dynamic EQ, complete with Threshold, Range, Attack, and Release controls. This makes it easy to tame harshness or muddiness only when it appears. The Sat section provides Drive and Character controls, allowing you to add texture and colour only to selected frequency ranges.
Alt-drag an EQ node to audition that band in isolation while searching for the right frequency. You can also right-click any EQ point to add a text note, making it easy to record why a particular adjustment was made.
Anything drawn in FREE Draw mode is purely visual and has no effect on the audio. Your chalk annotations are saved with the session and remain intact when switching presets or using A/B comparison.
