Traslasierra Guitars

HANDCRAFTED GUITARS RECORDED IN THE MOUNTAINS OF ARGENTINA.

Powered by the Raizes Player.

Traslasierra Guitars is a distinctive acoustic instrument built from three handcrafted guitars made by luthiers in Los Hornillos, Córdoba, Argentina. Warm nylon strings, articulate steel strings, and the wide resonance of a twelve-string guitar were carefully sampled to preserve the natural detail, imperfections, and personality of instruments made one at a time.

Each guitar was recorded across its playable range with multiple dynamics and three microphone perspectives, capturing everything from intimate fingered tones to brighter attacks and natural harmonics. The result is a highly playable collection of organic guitar sounds that can move from delicate acoustic performances to cinematic and atmospheric textures.

The surrounding landscape became part of the instrument as well. Streams, waterfalls, birds, and other sounds recorded around Los Hornillos were transformed into playable pads and textures that can be layered independently beneath the guitars. These environmental layers extend the acoustic recordings into ambient, cinematic, and experimental territory while retaining a strong connection to their place of origin.

At the heart of the library are guitars built by luthier Nicolás Barberis, featuring a distinctive wave-shaped soundboard supported by a lightweight internal structure inspired by the geometry of a dragonfly wing. Traslasierra Guitars brings these one-of-a-kind instruments and the landscape surrounding their workshop into Raizes Player.
