3 Keyboards from the 70's

Retro Keys I is a collection of 3 libraries based on famous keyboards from the 70s: The Orchestrator, The Compac and Organ X55. With faithful recreations of the sound, behaviour and workflow of the original units, this library offers true gems from the past for your present productions.

Compac Piano

The Compac is an electric piano made by Crumar in 1972 that features 3 piano sounds (piano, honky-tonk and clavichord).

The Orchestrator

Also known as Multi-Man, the Orchestrator was also made by Crumar in 1975. It’s a string machine' with a brass simulator. Bass, brass, piano, clavichord, violin, cello; with vibrato, envelope and presets.

Organ X-55

The Organ X-55 is a clonewheel made by Elka. Features 2 keyboards with 1 drawbar each, 3 piano sounds, percussion, vibrato, brilliance, rotator, tube drive and a set of presets.

The library features Wavesfactory's advanced effect script that lets you insert any effect chain you want, including:

  • High-Quality EQ.
  • Various types of compressors.
  • Modulation: chorus, flanger, phaser.
  • Distortion / Saturation / Tape
  • Algorithmic and convolutional reverb with more than 40 custom impulse responses.
  • Amp simulators.
  • This script boosts exponentially the sonic capabilities of the library, easy to use in a simple and elegant design.

From the settings page, you can control basically any parameter you might ever need. Divided into four sections you can find:

  • Round robin: the original instrument always plays the same sound no matter how many times you play a key. That’s why Wavesfactory didn’t sample any round-robin repetitions. But you can still get a round-robin effect using the neighbour-borrowing technique.
  • Dynamic range: set how much difference in volume there is between the loudest and the softest velocities.
  • Velocity curve: control how the library reacts to incoming midi notes.
  • Noise: all vintage equipment makes noise. Wavesfactory included it so you can have the real feel of the original instrument.
