Plugin Boutique present Carbon Electra. Carbon Electra is a powerful and intuitive synth built by producers, for producers. It’s a four-oscillator subtractive synth with a modern feature set. It has been developed as an advanced learning tool whilst also being a powerful and easy-to-program synth. Being based on vintage analogue routing and featuring flexible modulation options including an editable stepper and note performer.

The graphical displays act as a comprehensive information tool as well as an accurate guide to each parameter change. Best of all, it sounds incredible.

  • New sequencer function for step envelope: Includes an extended 28 semitone range and rests with support for pitch sweeps, legato glide and envelope re-trigger. Create analog style note recordings with a modern twist.

  • Carbon Electra can run natively as an AU plug-in with M1 / Apple Silicon hosts including Ableton Live, Machine, Studio One 6 and Logic Pro X. The VST2 is not compatible with M1 / Apple Silicon)

Important notes:

  • This software is 64-bit only and will not function on 32-bit systems.
  • Carbon Electra is not available in AAX format. It is compatible with most major VST and AU DAW platforms and is available for both PC and Mac computers.

Installation Instructions

1. Download the installer file provided, as well as the Carbon Electra Licence Key File (which is entitled 'carbonelectra.cekey') from within your User Account.

2. Double-click the .pkg file to begin the installation process > click ‘Continue’.

3. Read the Software Licence Agreement > click ‘Continue’.

4. Click ‘Agree’.

5. Select a destination folder in which to install Carbon Electra to > click ‘Continue’.

6. Select which component(s) to install > click 'Continue'.

7. Review the installation and click ‘Install’.

8. The installation of your software has successfully completed > click ‘Close’.

9. Locate and open the software within your DAW.

Note: Restart your DAW and rescan your plugin selection, to show the new installation (in the event it fails to appear).

Activation Instructions

1. Select the ‘Load’ tab, which is located at the top of Carbon Electra’s interface.

2. Select the ‘Import Key File’ option, which is displayed at the bottom of the drop-down selection.

3. Locate and select the Carbon Electra Licence Key File - 'carbonelectra.cekey' – that you downloaded to your computer in Step 1 of the installation process, to activate the software.

Carbon Electra is now Activated and Ready for Use Within Your DAW!

1. Download the .zip installer folder provided, as well as the Carbon Electra Licence Key File (which is entitled 'carbonelectra.cekey') from within your User Account.

2. Double-click the .zip folder to reveal the .exe installer file.

3. Double-click the .exe installer file to begin the installation process > read through the License Agreement and click ‘I Agree’.

32-Bit Installation:

  • Select the relevant 32-bit (VST) installation option tick box > click ‘Next’.

  • Choose and confirm the 32-bit plugin directory in which to save your software to > click ‘Next’.

64-Bit Installation:

  • Select the relevant 64-bit (VST) installation option tick box > click ‘Next’.

  • Choose and confirm the 64-bit plugin directory in which to save your software to > click ‘Next’.

4. The installation of your software has successfully completed > click ‘Next’.

5. Read through the information > click ‘Close’.

6. Locate and open the software within your DAW.

Note: Restart your DAW and rescan your plugin selection, to show the new installation (in the event it fails to appear).

2. Open Carbon Electra within your DAW.

3. Click the ‘Load’ tab.

4. From the drop-down menu, click the ‘Import Preset/Bank’ option.

5. Locate the ‘CEEXP’ file that you downloaded to your computer in step 1 of the Expansion Installation process, and load it into Carbon Electra.

6. The expansion will now be installed and can be found within the ‘Load’ menu section.
